Primary Purpose:
Under general guidance, provide technical and administrative support to R&D programs for U.S. government customers.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Procure, track, inspect and verify electronic components. Interpret specifications and identify alternate components as needed. Determine component compliance with customer and system requirements and military standards. Work with vendors and contract manufacturers to meet scheduled and quality standards
Assist engineers with schematic capture component symbol creation and library administration
Provide support in the lab during circuit board debugging. Set up test environments, operate and program automated test environments
Create and maintain component tracking spreadsheets and Bill of Materials (BoM). Document and diagram lab test configurations
Provide general support to design engineers and researchers
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Basic
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (US citizenship is a prerequisite)
Basic understanding of electronic components such as power supplies, processors, FPGAs, op amps and ADC/DACs
Experience with wiring chassis or rack systems and using tools for cutting, splicing, crimping and soldering electronic circuits
Experience working in a lab environment with electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes
Experience with electronic circuit board CAD tools for schematic capture (OrCAD, Altium, Mentor, Cadence).
Comfortable working in Windows or Linux environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
Able to work in a dynamic team environment supporting multiple tasks simultaneously
Able to take direction or work independently with minimal direction as required
Minimum Education and
Experience:
Associate's degree or technical certificate in Electronics and 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
