This individual reports directly to Front Desk Supervisor and or Practice Manage r.
General Accountabilities Sets up front desk, turns over phones and retrieves messages from service.
Answers and properly routes all incoming telephone calls, messaging patients as needed through text.
Directs messages to appropriate physicians and staff according to protocol.
Forwards new patient calls to individual physician's coordinator after entering patient demographics.
Greets patients and gathers and/or verifies all patient demographic and insurance information, according to office policy.
Verifies referral sources are noted, obtains all necessary patient signatures for filing of claims and release of information.
Enters all patient data into computer, scanning ID and insurance.
Verifying insurance if necessary.
Ensure patient all information to complete forms and history on portal.
Secures payment from patients for office visits, co-payments, and any prior balances.
Posts charges from EMNs that have been coded.
Schedules follow-up appointments for patients.
Confirm all patient appointments two days in advance.
Versed and knowledgeable on all services offered.
Full understanding of patient reward programs, ability to educate patients and manage accounts appropriately.
Controls patient flow by proper booking, checking in and out.
Ensures that reception area is organized, neat and ready for patients.
Maintains general cleanliness of lobby area.
Maintains sufficient supply of all office forms and supplies.
Scan and attach old charts into EMR.
Sorts and distributes incoming mail.
Distributes incoming faxes.
Sorts incoming reports and directs to appropriate physician.
Copies medical records and verifies completion of release authorization forms.
Maintains copier, printer, and postage area, ensuring adequate supply of paper, toner, and postage at all times.
All other duties assigned.
Job Qualifications
Experience:
